There was actually a rare earlier incarnation of what I presume is Madame Cholet in a striped top in 1997, spotted cleaning up Manchester with Alex Ferguson. Perhaps even the picture library wasn't sure, as they only mentioned Uncle Bulgaria in the caption.

I've got my Haydon the Womble badge from the AFC Wimbledon club shop. Apparently it's made from recycled cars, washing machines and yoghurt pots.

And the wood-carved Orinoco Womble bench outside the stadium is looking weathered, two years after it was installed.
