I've always been a perfectionist and it makes it hard to pick up new hobbies that I'm not perfect at right away. But I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new things. So here is my first time crocheting!

My heart hurts for my city and for those affected by this tragedy. This isn't the first school shooting that has hit close to home or affected people I know and care about. This school is about a mile away from where I live. I'm angry that this happens so often and we watch children die and prepare them to hide and run and fight for their lives and yet nothing ever really changes. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in the United States. These deaths are preventable. I'm struggling to find the words to pray. For these children and their families and teachers and the first responders and hospital staff. For a version of my city and my country where this never happens. To not be afraid to bring my own children into the world someday knowing what kind of world it is. Please pray for healing and safety for everyone affected by the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School. Please fight for policy that puts the lives of children over our egos.
