Can’t sleep, but another good rally.

This is not a metaphor for my life. It’s just a metaphor for the last week or so.

I should be sleeping, but what a rally.

This opinion by Justice Kavanaugh is undoubtedly going to be a large part of his legacy. It would be unremarkable if he wrote this before ICE started using excessive force to detain citizens without reasonable suspicion. But he wrote it after.

Does anyone know if they achieved this grisly milestone? Hopefully not?

Perfect morning. Wife sleeping late. Dogs asleep. The kids asked for popcorn for breakfast - why not? I’ve got my coffee and have been able to read in peace for more than 5 minutes at a time.

LOL, this is pathetic. I’m nearly 50 years old and could do this on no notice, no sleep, on an empty stomach, with a weighted vest. It’s also extremely unsurprising. apple.news/A0W9NfMb-RtG...

Crazy if they’re not doing this already. It’s very much a two birds with the same rock situation.

Ok, one more. Here’s a comparison pick of my old and new Bibles. Top one is a Zondervan 1995 NASB. It’s 8.9pt font. Over half the page is footnotes and cross references. Double column. Tiny margins. The new one is so much easier to read.

Nerd alert 🚨

Unboxing video for the Bible I just bought. I’ve been shopping for this for a while.

The only times I touched a hex bar in the last 8 months were 2 PT sessions where we did a few reps with less than 250 lbs. I saw the new Army Fitness Test max score is 3 reps for 350 lbs. I wanted to confirm I can do that with no issues, so did a quick set of 5 at the end of my workout. #Lightweight

Example: Wilhelm Keitel, appointed by Hitler as Chief of the Armed Forces High Command. He was a war criminal and widely disrespected by military leaders as an unqualified sycophant. A good summary here (yes it’s Wikipedia, but you can verify the citations).

This was my commute this morning, because a major route onto base is closed for construction. We can’t alleviate the traffic congestion by permitting Civilian employees to telework because the head of OMB wants everyone to hate their jobs.

This dish is called “I don’t know.”
It’s what my daughter gets when we ask what she wants for dinner and she says “I don’t know.”
It’s a banana, smothered in peanut butter, with scrambled, cheesy eggs, and salt.

I’m open to any suggestions on how to open this sink stopper. There’s no lever. And I don’t have anything to pry it open with. Really don’t feel like making a maintenance call in a hotel at 9:45pm.
I guess I’ll wait until morning.

Based on the responses, I guess this one is upside down, too?

Which one of these doors is upside-down?

We used to be strict about keeping the dogs off the couch. Then we realized that the big dog just likes to sit there and watch the sunrise. We allow it.

Any opinions on this? Shouldn’t the floor trusses be on top of the beam, rather than nailed to the side of it?

What is this timer for? It rattles and vibrates a lot when it’s running.

Ah yes. Noted scholar and practitioner of international humanitarian law, Bret Stephens.

Any idea what is inside this water kettle? Just discoloration? I’ve used this for years. Boiled water in it nearly every day. It went unused for the last two weeks due to our move. Not sure if this is new or if it simply never noticed. This picture is after I boiled water and wiped the inside.

This restates guidance in AR 638-34. If AR 638-34 is updated and guidance changes, then AR 15-6 will need to change.
AR 15-6 should refer to 638-34, but fails to even do that. Instead, this paragraph is a copy/paste from AR 638-34. That reg does not refer to itself, so neither does this paragraph.

This provision provides guidance on formal sexual harassment complaints. Why? That’s what AR 600-52, chapter 2 is for. Now we’re creating a hodge-podge of guidance in two regulations with two proponents, because AR 600-52 omitted this guidance.
