The lengths SCOTUS has gone to to carve out exceptions for cisheterosexual families and people (see: Skrmetti) just shows their clear animus against LGBTQ people

The religious liberty claims are also bunk. They've given the most regressive people veto power over everyone else

Conservatism has never been about "less government." They are happy and ready to weaponize government to uphold hierarchy and against people they deem Undeserving

With today's SCOTUS ruling and imminent cuts to suicide prevention funding, please donate to the @trevorproject.bsky.social today. Any amount, no matter how small, will do some good for LGBTQ+ young people

Really enjoyed this one!

How is it that education became seen as the sole mechanism for attaining economic opportunity (versus education creating democratic citizens with strong labor, economic, and social rights)?

Thanks for the recommendation, @jenniferberkshire.bsky.social!

As Trump spews bullshit every single day, as companies roll back efforts to protect and sustain an egalitarian society, as the oligarchs work to entrench existing hierarchies, and as [fuel for our dumpster fire], I return to this quote from @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social a lot and it gives me hope

Absolutely not following directions!

- Klein's analysis helps make sense of today's political climate and how not reckoning with neoliberalism is a weakness for Dems

- Key does a masterful job of covering the issues from every angle, including excerpts from families and young people
