New #ClassicFilm essay today devoted to BRIAN AHERNE, whose good looks and formidable talent should have assured him of celebrity – had he not fallen prey to self-sabotage and indecision. It’s a great cautionary tale; I hope you’ll take a look. thatsallsiknow.blogspot.com/2025/11/bria... #FilmSky 🎥

Lesser-Known #FilmNoir Everyone Should See

THE ACCUSED (1949), a feminist response to the misogyny that overran the film industry in the 1940s. Dazzling performance by Loretta Young as a psychology professor who kills the student who rapes her, then covers up her crime.

Just back from Felixstowe, visiting family. Went into the bookshop, The Treasure Chest, wondering without much hope if they had any Bujold.
They had some Bujold (these, plus three I already had, £2-£2.50 each). I think that's the most I've ever seen in one place!

@unamccormack.bsky.social I don't know if someone's already pointed you towards this, but in case they haven't - talking about Star Trek United (should start in the right place):

Genius.
Ooo, I've been to Gondor
And Moria
And anywhere I could run
Took the hand of a ranger man
And we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places and friendly faces
Because I had to be free
I've been to paradise
But I've never been to Bree

Hi,
Have you encountered this booktuber? He seems to me the kind of reader you'd like (and his top book was fantasy, which I didn't expect!):

#LetterboxedFriday I haven't actually watched four films this week (too many old TV episodes...), so no #LastFourWatched but I wanted to shout out Stick It, in particular, as a wonderfully entertaining and uplifting story. (Funny how Bridges' name, but not his face, is so often on the posters.)

Just draw the fuckin thing yourself. The imperfection is part of the charm. The fact that you drew it is the whole fuckin point. Don't embarrass yourself engineering a prompt, just pick up whatever you have at hand and give it a go. Be a human being.
