WAS SUPER PROUD OF US TONIGHT! Stink that Jonathan Ayling got in but at least he'll be isolated.

That was an intense AGM. Greatly resent having to listen to so much David Farrar.

That last one was a major 💥BOOM💥 moment for me. It's all unjust but that is a manifest injustice.

5. Our national population is young & Māori. The RSB sets up a future Aotearoa where the majority Māori workforce are financially propping up an aged non-Māori population WHILE being actively denied the right to exist AS MĀORI.

4. Kotahi anō te reo o tēnei ake whenua, o wēnei ake wai. The threat to te reo by the RSB is an attack upon the distinctive voice of these lands and waters. If you care about the distinct identity of this place, you cannot allow matauranga Māori, te reo Māori, me ōna tikanga to come under attack.

3. Kaupapa Māori education is already underfunded, and under supported as it stands. The RSB is taking support in the wrong direction.
June 8, 2025 at 10:00 PM
2. The govt has already been clear about how the reo would fare under the RSB. They have banned it in public services, defunded Māori broadcasting & Te Ahu o Te Reo, & Luxon declared they would "call out Maorification". The RSB will provide the govt with a license to do even more damage, easier.

1. Our reo restoration has been hard-fought, and across multiple spaces (media/broadcasting, reo i te kāinga, kōhanga/kura kaupapa, pukapuka, signage, public services, and internet). The RSB is broad enough to wind us back across all of those spaces, making it an eco-system wide attack upon our reo.

Still important to be as vocal or possible or they will record in history that they passed it with minimal opposition (inferring support).

Also not necessarily the case if you look at NZ First's statements which are decidedly chilled.
