Russia spend approx 150 bill USD in 2025 in the middle of a war (= extreme)
If EU and UK spend 2% of GDP they would spend about 500 bill USD yearly
So 2% should be enough long term
But 3,5-5% is to catch up after years of underspending. I doubt it will remain at this level when we reach year 2035...

First Europe adapt to help US in global missions at the cost of it's own defence and now accused of not spending enough on its own defence.
It is easy to sit safely at the other side of the Atlantic and have a lot of opinions 😊.

This seems to be one more step towards a future where a bunch of countries in Europe have only one parameter in their defence spending calculation and that is how to get most Russia-defeating capability for their money.

Många av oss har fortfarande inte glömt att Svenskt försvar styrdes av budgetpolitik. En civil utrikes underrättelsetjänst kommer inte kunna reparera det misstaget och om man sen ändå inte lyssnar på de underättelser man får så spelar det ingen roll hur de tas fram.....
