My wife says I do “computery things”.
You can’t say it’s not a Christmas movie anymore, it’s now not a “festive” movie.

What’s this from?

And soundtrack album.

See, men are a dogs best friend too.

Me too. But it’s incredibly overhyped, like blockchains, and it’s gong to have lots of uses but not anywhere near as many as people seem to think.

No, but they need to not be completely thrown by trivial problems to be trusted. They have uses undeniably, but they are limited to the mundane unless they are supervised by an expert.

As a longtime Drupal developer now mostly using FastAPI - I’m pumped to not have to deal with Drupal so much and when I do I don’t have to mess around with badly documented JavaScript apis and can just drop HTMX in and have it just work.

I’ve done about a dozen htmx endpoints in Drupal manually and it’s still easier than using Drupal’s inbuilt Ajax system. Even got around the way Drupal (php) calls JavaScript.

Their opinion counts more than yours in this.

I know. But the temptation would be to add some training especially for counting letters.

Well it’s not the ‘AI’ doing it if it’s calling out to a separate routine for an issue that’s been found when there are millions of similar issues that they’ve not coded for yet. Nobody really wants to know how many rs are in strawberry
November 26, 2025 at 7:52 PM
Well that still could be a special case. If I were coding an LLM and my boss had said it needs to count the r’s in strawberry I’d at least code for counting letters in other words.
November 26, 2025 at 6:35 PM
But is that just coded as a special case?

As an enhanced autocomplete it’s absolutely great. But you can’t trust it - it happily hallucinates non-existent functions. Using TDD helps as does experience.

Episodes I-III certainly left me waking up screaming. Especially the romantic dialogue.

He probably has a pager.

I’m struggling with Cursor which uses tab for completion which is what vscode uses for type hint completion. So I mapped ` instead but then I sometimes forget and hit esc or tab and just fml.
