I think I have a pretty compelling through-line for how the game tackles its themes of life and death though so hopefully it turns out good

(My actual take is that Tears of the Kingdom is the *only* the better game if you have not played Breath of the Wild already. By nature of being a sequel in the same world it's biggest strengths of exploration and discovery become a lot less impactful)

I will say gameplay-wise the absolute joy I get from having Ramza run around as a barefist monk punching people for far too much damage is some peak tactics game shenanigans

Without getting too specific on the TL I think on the whole my eventual feelings on this game will come down to how it handles Ovelia

The characters are very compelling but this kind of narrative can very easily clash with ideas of class consciousness even if you're trying to avoid doing so

Not sure I actually want to shiny hunt in this game (the methods don't seem the most engaging) but I don't actually feel ready to put the game down so I'll see 🤷‍♀️
