By using conventional and molecular cytogenetics to characterize five boobies species karyotype, we also demonstrated the emergence of a multiple-sex chromosome system resulted from a Robertsonian translocation involving the W chromosome and a microchromosome.

Very excited to share our new investigation conducted by Luciano Pozzobon. Here, we describe a multiple-sex chromosome system Z1Z1Z2Z2/Z1Z2W in two boobies species (Sula datylatra and S. leucogaster).
