I watched HOBGOBLINS (1988) in the background, the MST3K version. I don't think I had seen it before. This movie was just so fuckin weird. It's a Gremlins rip-off, sure, but the rules of the Hobgoblins are bizarre and there are so many scenes that just go nowhere.

I watched THE 12 SLAYS OF CHRISTMAS (2022). This is literally just a 40 minute ad for blind box toys of Full Moon characters from things like Puppet Master, Demonic Toys, and Evil Bong with a Christmas wraparound of an old man telling stories to some young women with movie clips. No really.

I watched CARNIVAL MAGIC (1983) when I had the MST3K Turkey Day marathon on in the background. A very bizarre film about a circus performer who can talk to animals and also had a talking chimp named Alex. At the end it promises to return with sequel next year but it never did.

I watched CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS (2022). A robot Santa goes haywire and starts deeming everyone naughty and killing them. I wish I had more fun with this but I wasn't really feeling it. And that last act draaaags. I liked how it was shot with the Christmas lighting, though.

I watched STARCRASH (1978), specifically the MST3K version on the Turkey Day marathon. This movie was fucking nuts. A Star Wars knockoff with David Hasselhoff, random cavemen, and an annoying, wisecracking robot with a Southern accent. And so so so many shots of flying ships.

I watched AVALANCHE (1978) but not really because I just had the MST3K Turkey Day stream on in the background and this was on but sure whatever let's say I watched it.

It's so funny how in the original Animal Crossing on the GameCube that the Harvest Festival (Thanksgiving) was all about helping Franklin the turkey so that your townspeople don't murder and eat him. They would never do that now.

I watched BLOOD RAGE (1987) with @moldyclay.bsky.social for Thanksgiving, as this movie is set on that day. Our version was heavily censored though, cutting out all the gore. Two twins, one evil and one good, with the evil one killing people. Goofy fun. Definitely not cranberry sauce.

I watched MARTYRS (2008). I went into this pretty much blind, just knowing the basic premise of a girl seeks revenge against her abusers from her childhood. I had no idea the trip this was going to take. It was very good but I will also not watch it again any time soon. Damn.

I hope I'm not alone in this but there's something about ronunununu's Zelda that I am into

I watched DR. GIGGLES (1992). I wasn't sure if I had seen this before or not but I don't think I have. I may have just caught bits and pieces of it on TV. Anyway, this was goofy and fun. Crazy guy thinks he's a doctor and goes about killing people with doctor's tools and puns.

I watched HOME SWEET HOME (1981). A escaped killer terrorizes a family on Thanksgiving. This had some moments that made me burst out laughing but MAN was this a slog. The video quality was also shit. There's a character in this movie named Mistake. Like, that's his actual name.
November 25, 2025 at 10:50 PM
I watched KRISTY (2014). A young woman stays behind at her college campus over Thanksgiving break when a group of hoodie wearing cult members break in and try to hunt her down. An enjoyable "home invasion" story, just on a campus. The final girl ends up being pretty badass.

The Ring: Terror's Realm is the first piece of Ring media to come overseas as it released two years before the American remake and before the original movie or novel were made available in the US. There's a non-zero percent chance someone saw The Ring expecting it to be based on this game.

Whenever this character was on screen during Free Birds I could only think of Xavier, Renegade Angel
November 24, 2025 at 3:35 AM
I watched FREE BIRDS (2013) with some friends over Discord. The movie where turkeys go back in time to the first Thanksgiving to take turkey off the menu. That's right, they go back in time to the first Thanksgiving to take turkey off the menu. I surprisingly kind of liked this?? I laughed.

An item in Super Mario RPG called the Muku Cookie can only be purchased in Seaside Town from Yaridovich for 69 coins. It summons Mukumuku, who attempts to attack enemies, but throws a bomb at itself and heals your party 69 HP. After beating Yaridovich you can no longer obtain this item.

I watched THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER (2015) by Osgood Perkins. Two girls are left stranded at a prestigious all girls school over winter break and something sinister comes along. Told in a non-linear fashion. I really liked this! Very moody, creepy, and well shot. I dig Osgood Perkins' stuff.

I watched THE WRATH OF BECKY (2023), which was a sequel to a movie I haven't seen but I didn't feel too lost. A troubled teen with a violent past is trying to get her life together when violent men come around and kill her caretaker and kidnap her dog. She gets revenge. Was a fun watch!
November 22, 2025 at 7:25 PM
I watched GOOD BOY (2025), the horror film told from the perspective of a dog who senses something sinister in the new home he's moved into with his owner. This style won't be for everyone but I loved this. Phenomenal dog acting from the lead Indy. We don't deserve dogs.

I watched BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (1999). A struggling puppeteer accidentally stumbles across a portal that leads into the mind of actor John Malkovich. He makes a profit off it, letting people live as him. It was very good and also way more gay and trans coded than I expected.

Classic Giant Bomb moment
November 21, 2025 at 8:13 PM
I watched ODDITY (2024). A young woman is brutally murdered and so her sister, a blind psychic, enacts her revenge one year later on those that killed her with some cursed objects. I liked this! Moody, creepy, and with a great atmosphere. Loved the ending.
November 21, 2025 at 1:17 AM
I watched THE PERFECT NEIGHBOR (2025). Documentary presented almost entirely in police bodycam footage and interrogation footage of an evil bitch who would constantly make 911 calls over black kids playing outside. Truly insane how this sort of thing can just happen. Fuck Stand Your Ground laws.
