This week was pretty great. Final fantasy music with my son, disc golf with an old friend, great Japanese food and AFI playing some of my favorite songs tonight with my wife for her birthday. Hell yeah.

I got to play disc golf for the first time in 20 years with one of my closest friends I hadn’t seen in forever. It was a great day. Only lost one disc (it was Halloween themed, felt like whoever found it would get a cool treat) and the King almost drowned in the moat I didn’t see but I did it!

I’m playing through it again right now, almost done with disc 3. So good. Wish it had a true HD remake. There’s some mods that upscale the backgrounds but they use AI so hard pass.

I was beyond hyped when he said he wanted to go lol. After several minutes of interrogation to make sure there wasn’t a Zelda one going on and explaining that I don’t know why there aren’t any Zelda ones going on. Kid loves Zelda, can’t blame him.

Got to take my little bud to see some Final Fantasy music! Teared up a bit at parts, he had a blast, very thankful for a good memory during this frankly abysmal month. If they don’t have a Zelda symphony soon though he might pull a Tonberry on me.

I’ve been chasing away the depressies with nostalgia in the form of JRPGs. Too excited for Final Fantasy Tactics remake (a top 5 of all time) so I decided to load this up. I have become comically bad over the years and learned there was no permadeath after the first mission. Strategically stunted.

My phone glitched on gps and wouldn’t show the guide, kept giving me a notification for a text and wouldn’t mark it read, and now all my calendars are broken. Big deal when you have 4 kids. Cannot recommend not updating to iOS 26 enough, it’s fucking awful. #apple #ios26 Apple’s gone downhill hard.

My daughter is playing a game where you collect night soil to build things and could not handle it. I can’t wait to take her to ren fest this year and explain it’s a real thing.
