"Yes, Doctor, I know," said Victoria testily.

Of course there is.

This contains one of my favourite lines in all the Target novels: "Briefly the Doctor explained the workings of London’s Underground Railway system. Oh, did he really? Briefly?

(One of the many things I like about Web of Fear is the attention to detail in the soldiers' uniforms - presumably Duggie Camfield's influence.)

Actually, is it ever established where in Scotland Lethbridge-Stewart is from? Clearly he is - even before it's established in dialogue in Terror of the Zygons, he's wearing the cap of a Scottish regiment. But where? I suspect somewhere in the posher bits of the Forth-Clyde corridor.

Depends on which part of Scotland he's from. They were red in Glasgow, but blue (and to a different design) in Edinburgh.

Ironically, this sort of patronising snobbery about the working classes is very much in the Fabian tradition that Glasman affects to despise.

Essentially, Glasman is a massive snob. Labour must be pro-worker, but at the same time, the workers must know their place and not try to rise above it.

I love Chandler. I think The Lady In The Lake and The Long Goodbye are even better than this.
