Errors happen, even to the best players. That was one of the best pitched playoff games you will ever see. No shame in losing a classic playoff game.

The Phils have issues, but they still had another great season. Losing to the defending champs is in no way embarrassing.

Tough way to end the season for the Phillies. Still was a great year! No shame in losing to an excellent Dodgers team who are the defending World Champs.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
This fucking tremendous!!! And exactly what is needed.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Wait a minute...are you saying you agree with Johnson's statement?
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Boo fucking hoo. How's that vote for Trump working out for you, Farmer Joe?
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Well, to be fair to Topper, he was also considering starting Jordan Romano.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Ron Thompson tonight had perhaps the worst game management I have ever witnessed in the playoffs. He almost singlehandedly cost his team the game.
1. Lifting Luzardo was an awful decision.
2. Bunting with a man on 2nd with no outs down a run was monumentally stupid.

I hope the Phillies fire him.

Assuming a .250 hitter for the next 3 at bats, the odds of a hit that would score Castellanos (who he should have pinch run for by the way) are 1 - (.75*.75*.75), or 58%.

Giving away an out on a bunt there is monumental stupid, even if the sacrifice works. Just fucking awful.

Wow. Just...wow. As bad as Thompson's decision to pull Luzardo was, at least it is debatable.

What the actual fuck is he doing having Stott bunt with no outs and a man on 2nd down a run with the season on the line?! He should be fired TOMORROW.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Baloney. They won the division by 13 games. Schwarber had a great season, but to claim he was responsible for more than 13 games in standings is assinine.

Remember a month ago when everyone attacked me when I said the Phillies should let Scwarber walk?
What do you all think now? He's a fat ass choker! Those 56 HRs do us no good when he goes hitless in playoffs and strikes out with the season on the line.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Thompson will be an ex-Phillies manager by Saturday.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
And then Thompson compounds mistake by challenging an obvious safe call.

@romew.bsky.social
Mistake taking Luzardo out. He has been best pitcher in baseball for the last month.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
One person whose ass should be firmly planted on the bench unless we are forced into extra innings where we had to use him is Strahm.
I have had it with his tendency to give up long balls. Almost anyone else in the bullpen should come in before him.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
I hate having Castellanos in the lineup. He is a head case, and I would prefer sticking with players who have a long-term future with the team in playoff spots like this.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
WTF?! Why is Stott not starting? He is a far superior fielder to Sosa and a better bat also.
Topper is panicking, I guess.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Fuck the farm community. Let them feel the consequences of their prejudices.

I have no compassion for them.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
He's right. And I appreciate the Sox bowing out to Yankees so that the whole world gets to enjoy the biggest playoff ass whooping in the history of major league sports. 🤣
tonyod1263.bsky.social
WTF is he babbling about now?
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Schwarber and Turner were awful, I agree. Unless they hit, we are in big trouble.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
You are kidding me, right?

Not sure if you realize this, but Harper is in the top 5 ALL-TIME in post-season OPS.
The guy has simply been a beast in the playoffs. And he got a hit in a clutch spot late in tonight's game. He is NOT the problem, believe me.
tonyod1263.bsky.social
Relax. It is far from over. Strahm killed them with one bad pitch. Otherwise, they win that game. I hope he is not on the team next season. Gives up far too many long balls for a reliever.

Phils are a gutty team. They will bounce back in Game 2 on Monday. And no reason they can't get a split in LA
