I don't think many people consider the hegemony that America was part of was due entirely to being stable, reliable, and predictable.
Now that slot is going to be filled by others who have proven themselves more reliable.

It's actually impressive how much the earlier seasons are more "grounded' than the later ones. I got whiplash watching Sun and Moon with my kid and then showing them the first 2 seasons.
