Thanks a lot to my brilliant co-authors, @arpitbhatia.bsky.social, Lei Gao, Ryuji Hirayama, Sriram Subramanian, Joanna Bergström and @khornbaek.bsky.social, who all put a great deal of time and effort into the project!

🚀 Why It Matters:
- Non-contact delivery/modulation opens new possibilities for haptic tech.
- Allows dynamic control of chemical stimulation.
- Impacts study of chemical/mechanical sense interactions.
- First digital control of chemical stimulation for haptic feedback.

🔍 Achievements:
- Non-contact delivery of chemical stimulants (menthol, capsaicin, cinnamal, ethanol) using acoustophoresis.
- Ultrasound-delivered droplets produce haptic sensations.
- Ultrasound increases perceived intensity.
- Cinnamal + ultrasonic feedback enhances perception.

🌟 Excited to share our research in Scientific Reports! We developed a non-contact ultrasound system for delivering chemical stimulants to the skin, enhancing haptic sensations. This opens new possibilities for haptic tech!

I'm super happy to share that our work on haptic experiences has been published in TOCHI 🥳 Our work combines elements of UX and HX to create a Unified Model for thinking about rich, complex haptic experiences. Check it out and help us shape the future of haptic design! doi.org/10.1145/3711...
