Thanks for sharing this @havehashad.com - a ☠️ for all the 4-legged friends we still miss.

P.S. If this isn't enough 💔 for your day, torture yourself more with this other thing I wrote: "Deadlines" (issue 28, Black Fox Lit Mag, free download @ blackfoxlitmag.com).

What a powerful piece. I loved every word.

Congrats, Francesca.

Hi Melissa, would you consider a MG novel in verse?
tracierenee.bsky.social
Cool!

I see what you did there.

And I hear that useful skill. 😜

This was supposed to have read: "Thanks for not getting nearly enough SLEEP last night!"

Apparently, I also did not get enough sleep last night because I forgot how to make sentences today.

Your "returned manuscript" letter is my personal favorite out of all the form passes I've gotten, because it was phrased so very sincerely and so very kindly and I am so very grateful for that.

Thanks for not getting nearly enough last night!

26 years of public library work = I am maybe not completely terrible at finding comps.

For my first MG, I wrote the pitch/ letter/synopsis after the draft was query-ready. I regretted that.

I find queries for picture book texts infinitely harder to craft than queries for novels.

I haven't found a list, but there's a helpful feed for pitch events! Search "pitch events" in FEEDS, scroll over to the options under the "feeds" tab and then pin.

An absolutely heart-making-ly, heartbreakingly beautiful piece.

I'm proud of you too.

I'm also drinking tea tonight and contemplating mortality and thinking, "Yes, exactly this!"

Thank you, @brettstuckel.com for so eloquently capturing this feeling. Congrats.

Perfectly, poignantly captures the ephemeral cycle of seasons.

Congratulations, Eileen! What a powerful and beautiful piece that captures so much in such few words. Well done.

Sure wish I could tell my uncle about this one.

Thank you, Orange Blossom Review, for including my CNF essay "Rubber Bands" on your 2025 #BOTN list.
