Oh my gosh, getting in touch with the BBB WORKED. PayPal is restoring my account and I should have access to my money again.

If you are in the US or deal with the US PayPal and your account is randomly, without warning, and without explanation closed down, file a complaint with the BBB!

YouTube AI age verification is coming in less than 10 days!

Time to watch some old people videos to protect your account!

All from this tiny account, too.

I had 0 followers 3 days ago, and I still have only 30.

But it only shows how passionate people are on this topic👀

2.1K reposts and 3.4K likes!

Considering 3.5K/7.3K ACLU pulled a few days ago, looks like this post might be one of the biggest video game censorship posts made by an individual on BlueSky!

Thank you so much for your support, everyone!
Things like this motivate me to fight harder!

I do not know how much of a reach I'll have, but I want to state that anyone making concessions on the itch guidelines regarding adult content - saying that 'well its okay if they ban x as long as its not y' should reconsider.

It may be 'unpopular', but this is fictional, and legal, content.

NEW: Earlier today, Mastercard denied playing a roll in the Steam and itch.io purging NSFW games.

But Valve now says Mastercard communicated concerns indirectly through payment processors and banks.

A possible explanation of what exactly happened

An adult game creator, "ASLPro3D," shared this on Twitter.

A possible explanation of what exactly happened between Steam, Internet Merchant Account, and Card Companies.

It's really long, and I'm not used to BlueSky, but let me try to copy paste the content.

Given their unbelievably wide influence and previous history of censorship, I wouldn't be surprised if they are hidden players behind Steam censorship and Internet censorship.

BlockRock, State Street, and Vanguard must be punished to the ground.

EVERYONE FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!

BlockRock, State Street, and Vanguard are on their way to an antitrust suit!!!

If this lawsuit goes well, it might greatly improve energy, housing, healthcare, entertainment industry, and more!

An adult game creator offered a very possible explanation for this.

This is unverified info, but it sounds very interesting.

when these companies try to claim this is about what’s legal or not, they’re lying. none of the games that were removed from steam or itch broke the law. financial companies are making subjective decisions based on what might inconvenience them

aftermath.site/steam-itch-p...
"But the idea that it's just about what's legal is ridiculous,” he added. “It's not about what the law allows you to process. These are often very subjective rules around what falls outside the brand guidelines for Visa and Mastercard. And even if something doesn't fall outside the brand guidelines, it may just be something that is uncomfortable. ... [Questions of] 'Is this inside the bounds? Is this outside the bounds? Should we be processing that? Should we not be processing that?' are often incredibly subjective."

Stabile speculated that specific game removals on Steam and new rules on both Steam and Itch are meant to bring video games in line with what card companies and payment processors would be comfortable with in real-life porn. But that approach, he noted, doesn’t really stand up to prolonged scrutiny: "The difference is that you can't shoot anybody in real life, but there are plenty of games in which you can do that,” he said. “The stuff [companies] are talking about is entirely legal. It's legal to have in a book, it's legal to have in a game. They are making decisions based on their brand, based on public pressure from anti-porn groups, and that can be reversed."

This doesn't change what we should do.

Even if the story is right, and THEY told IMAs without research.

Visa and Mastercard carelessly made an extremely important decision, which impacted millions of people.

Keep calling them! I'll try to look for IMA info.

SO… in part, Mastercard is being truthful here… they likely DIDN’T contact Steam or Itch.io directly, instead, they likely just contacted the Internet Merchant Account/Processors and told them to ‘make this problem go away’… so the Internet Merchant Account/Processors did

I KNOW THIS because I am one of the creators and used to be one of the owners of Renderosity and Renderotica and I had to do this B.S. dance on the whims of banks, processors and credit card companies on a regular basis… even as far back as 1999/2000.
