In this season of hyper-consumerism, it is important to note that Black Americans regularly protested establishments that would not treat them equally and promoted those that did. The Green Book Project archives this rich history. greenbookproject.osu.edu #GreenBookProject

30 years ago today, on November 25, 1995, “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" entered both the Billboard Hot 100 and the R&B Singles Chart at Number One! It was Whitney Houston’s last number one pop hit and it happened on my birthday. This song is an absolute classic!

One of the coolest things I ever did was seeing an Ilonka Karasz desk at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and liking it so much that I had an artisan here in Columbus (the amazing Tarik Yousef— TY Furniture) replicate the design for me in walnut. Furniture really is art.

Black Americans fought bravely to protect defend a nation that defined them as second class citizens. The #GreenBookProject shows how they left and returned to a nation that was unsafe and hostile to their daily passage, and worked to dehumanize them at every turn

I find it absolutely hilarious that gay conservatives use the SCOTUS decision to not reconsider Obergefell v. Hodges as proof that progressive gays are fear-mongers while prominent conservatives openly admit that they are committed to ending same sex marriage in the United States.

Black veterans fought for freedom abroad and returned home to second class citizenship. Traveling while Black during Jim Crow was about survival, mobility, and dignity. The Green Book Project documents that story:

Grocery price inflation is tearing him up and he has no plan to fix it. You can’t lie your way around what people see every week at the store. You can’t bully prices. The administration owns the continued inflation in grocery prices. They fully own it now, whether they like it or not.
