I had a chat last night with a landowner who told me that a dairy farmer with 800 acres couldn’t make enough money to cover any IHT. Estimate farm value £10m so £7m liable for 20% IHT to be paid over 10 years.

I can’t understand why no one has gone to prison over the PPE scandal in the UK. Has there been no court cases? What about recovering the £billions? All gone quiet.

I do wonder if farmers have scored an own goal. Maybe it would have been better for the vast majority to keep quiet as the IHT changes don’t affect them. Let those who will be caught pay the price of their previous tax avoidance. #farmers #fairtaxforall
