Rahmanullah Lakanwal entered the US in 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome and received asylum this year under Trump. According to CIA director John Ratcliffe, Lakanwal served in CIA-run counterterrorism units in Kandahar, including the Zero Units — notorious squads used in night raids alongside US special forces and long accused of extrajudicial killings and disappearances. The New York Times reported that a childhood friend said Lakanwal “could not tolerate” the violence of the CIA-backed unit he served in. Prosecutors say he carried out a planned, targeted attack yesterday with a .357 revolver before being shot and detained. Both guard members remain in critical condition. Decades of dispossession, killings, and humiliation shape how Palestinians react, and under those same conditions Israeli officials themselves admit they would have taken up arms. Malley stresses that Palestinian armed struggle didn’t begin on October 7 or in 1967 and can’t be understood without 1948 and what came before. He adds that episodes like Camp David have been weaponized to smear Palestinians rather than reckon with the structural realities that created the conflict in the first place.

The Nahua people lived uncontacted in the Peruvian Amazon. #AtTheEdge uncontactedpeoples.org Then Shell moved in, drilled for oil, and left tracks open that loggers later used. It ended in death for the Nahua. The flu that was introduced decimated the Indigenous population.

*Update: Community members say Target has claimed neutrality in the past, but when employees were told federal agents were in the loading dock area today, they went to speak with them and the agents soon left. ICE was reportedly upset about people blowing whistles and “disrupting” them.

On Nov 4 around noon, Border Patrol was at a Walmart in Skokie, IL. One person was briefly detained before agents headed north on I‑94 around 12:35 pm. Community patrols continue working around the clock to protect their neighbors.
