Steelheads win 4-1, sweep the Lions series.
Ive always liked working hockey games but the teddy bear toss night is always a favorite. Ironic: they just called off the goal after all that 🙄

FIFA making its fixture schedule grid at such a poor resolution it's entirely unusable is chef's kiss perfection. just a feckless organization built to take advantage of global love for the game.

So I guess this bombing suspect should expect a pardon like every other J6 insurrectionist that attacked the US Capitol received?
Patel on J6 arrest: "When you attack American citizens, when you attack our institutions of legislation, when you attack our nation's Capitol, you attack the very being of our way of life."

I also yelled at the radio just now.
“Critics say” Trump’s remarks on Somalis were bigoted?

JFC what are you doing?

Trying to think of a former Boise State football player with a better NFL playing career than Demarcus Lawrence. Maybe Ryan Clady, but Lawrence has been really good for a really long time. Great signing for Seattle.

Boise State hosts UNLV for the MW football championship game. didn't see that one coming (computer tiebreakers used). 3rd straight year Broncos and Rebels meet for the title. Friday at 6pm on FOX

Just this week, Idaho’s South-Central Public Health District announced a sharp uptick in HIV detections this year compared to 2024. 5 to 15 HIV and 1 to 9 HIV-3 new cases so far this year. Not big numbers, sure, but a jump. Health dist encouraged protection/testing/vigilance.
SCOOP: The Trump administration has instructed employees and grantees not to use U.S. funds to commemorate World AIDS Day — because the observance was started by the World Health Organization.

I love how it’s very likely going to be easier to watch the Portland Trailblazers in my hometown than the Seattle Mariners.
Blazers announce they've added KSTW in Seattle to their list of regional over-the-air partner stations carrying their game broadcasts.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

the perfect phrase for X, obv. but also, the rest of social media fits this for varying reasons too. I've been weening myself away from meta for a couple weeks (I still have to beat-check certain fb accounts for work purposes which is a whole different post) but I'm already noticing a + difference
“.. This is X in 2025: Potentially fake accounts crying at other potentially fake accounts that they aren’t real, all while refusing to acknowledge that they themselves aren’t who they say they are — a Russian nesting doll of bullshit.”

holy crap. the influence this school has had on US craft beer for decades simply cannot be overstated. what a thing.
NEW: Today the Siebel Institute—the US' oldest/most prestigious brewing school & a cornerstone of the industry globally—announced its relocation from Chicago to Montreal, citing "[r]ecent regulatory changes in the US [that] have made it much more challenging for many of our international students."

I know it’s raining, but Spencer Danielson’s quote this week that BSU can run the whole playbook without Madsen seems pretty dubious so far. Gaines meanwhile has put the offense on his back.

Maybe I should have known this before but ONLY 30 PEOPLE VOTE? WTF. What a joke.
Hard not to think east coast bias and time/visibility of games factored heavily into the AL MVP vote.

Pac-12 announced today it will partner with USA Network for football and basketball broadcasts (plus CBS, CW, CBSSN). Interesting note: Pac-12 will produce all games on USA. I know the line is blurred more than ever, but I'm always suspect of partisan broadcasts. Viewers not always served well.

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.
