I suspect that the most likely outcome for products like that is those horrible blister packs that many otc meds are sold in, so that each softgel is technically in its own container.

This policy is customer-hostile enough that I'm genuinely wondering if it's meant to keep people from using gift certificates they've been given (i.e. calling due the interest free loans they've given the company).
