I love how often Hellboy is like. Not the guy who solves the problem, but the guy who throws himself in front and takes the hits for the folks who solve the problem. He’s there to get the job done and sometimes that means letting the folks who can do what he can’t get the opportunity to do it

When one gets old or bored or tired enough they go to an elephant graveyard type location and merge into a protoplasmic pool that spit out new horses sometimes, or on request by a person the horses genetic memory recognizes as a good caretaker.

They wanted to make horses stronger tougher and faster, but they eventually the horses would like. Just snap their legs sometimes cause of how strong they are, or get scared and have their hearts blow up. They couldn’t turn them back so they just made them self-healing and basically immortal.

The idea I had is that it’s a world where everyone went really hard on magic using it to try and improve things without thinking about the consequences, and then not being able to undo stuff but make shifting and loopholing stuff back into a kind of working order

Was it an intentional choice to cast the main trio across a range of Fandub experience? Penny (been in from Day 1) and Holly (a good number of these under her belt but first leading role) with Wayne (improv experience but first fandub). Seemed like a smart way to balance in case of misteps or flubs!
