That Bisexual guy from YouTube that plays waaaaay to many video games.

Trans lives matter baby.

If my employer finds these posts objectionable maybe ask yourself if you're violating my weingarten rights.
I wish I could say they were an aberration but unfortunately people like those who align with the GOP tend to win control of the church in practical terms. Largely because they are prepared to use violence to win theological arguments.

Man, I know it's idolatrous and all but I love me an icon.

This totally makes sense though. That process repeats in many places where Christianity has attempted to expand.

Tbh I think it's kind of inevitable once a religion sees itself as both universal and desires hegemony.

Americans want to believe we're the good guys, despite all evidence to the contrary.

No joke I was told the USA has only been in 5 wars when I was growing up in the 1990s.
December 5, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Um...you are aware of what the US military is... right?
December 5, 2025 at 12:46 AM
I was really concerned about what the "way out" was there for a second.
December 5, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Yeah it's fucking sad to see.

I don't know much about Judaism in that era except through a Christian lens, but iirc that change on patriarchy in Christianity happened pretty fast. Like, within 2 generations of the church's founding.

At last my dream of living in factorio can be a reality.

Every can of diet RC cola I drink may have been part of the court of Napoleon III?

I hope the clean that shit I don't want his gross toe-licking saliva in my diet RC cola.

These kind of transphobic attacks give a shit about the Bible beyond it's utility for their genocidal aims.
December 4, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Oh definitely, the church has a shit ton of patriarchy to answer for.

But these people love to draw from a set of texts that while quite sexist and fundamentally binary on gender, also pretty openly expound the idea that God contains all the genders.

Of course that would assume people that write

The worst part about this essay for me is the fact that my co-religionists are so hot to hate trans people they're willing to embrace complementarism to do it.

These people scare me.

Yeah I can't remember the way to integrate compiled Linux executables into the app launcher. I think it's very dependent on the desktop environment.
December 3, 2025 at 10:07 PM
Installing from tar is dependent on what's in the tarball.

Usually people just pack a git directory in there with the source code.

A good dev will put a script in there with something like "install.sh" which can be run as an executable.

Others will just give you a makefile and you have to compile

As an arch user I just don't think Trump knows what he's getting into.

Sure it's the cool hot superuser Linux, but he's going to be chasing dependencies for the first 3 weeks all the time.

2 reasons:

1. They mistakenly believe userspace anticheat is ineffective.

2. Kernel level anticheat is a great way to milk additional data from their players for resale.
December 3, 2025 at 2:00 AM
In the case of many multiplayer games such as apex legends, the way anticheat systems work is by integration into the system kernel.

It is possible to use anticheat systems in Linux, but to my knowledge all exist in the userspace. Many large developers chose not to support anticheat in Linux for

You forget that G.R.O.N.K. has a fork that does jpegs but doesn't support any inputs but the IMB 2250 LIGHTPEN.

Consider that by using Linux the cool kids are no longer cool.
December 3, 2025 at 12:06 AM
Varies distro to distro but the amount of tinkering can be quite overwhelming. Your experience is something I hear quite often.

I would offer advice but as someone who's been using Linux for more than a decade I kinda reached a dumb zen where I can fix my own problems but rarely anybody else's.

Distro watch considers POP_OS relatively user friendly, I think the biggest difference between stock fedora and POP_OS would be the cosmic desktop environment. IIRC.
December 2, 2025 at 9:41 PM
I don't do software dev but I have used a lot of different distros.

Tbh fedora is my go-to for a Linux that can do most any task without having to fight too much.

My understanding is POP_OS should be fine for most development tasks as it is a fairly well-founded distro. But I could be wrong.

I mean, nvidia quit being a little bitch about opening the hardware API a few months ago. My understanding is that this has improved the nvidia experience substantially in Linux.
December 2, 2025 at 1:54 AM
I feel this. I donked another arch install on my laptop (or have fried the drive, not sure) and I'm just going back to fedora 43. I can't use normal OS's anymore, but sometimes Linux is very frustrating.
