I make garbage and talk about rats and webdev.

I am 30 or 40 years old and I will not be giving this app my ID, these laws are idiotic.

I can't send DMs anymore because of some recent laws that went into effect (I don't trust that my information will be handled properly, so I won't be sending bluesky's third party service my ID to change it) but!! i just replied to you with a bunch of pictures, they're all wonderful babies

Sparrow and Fern! These are Flea's (and Iggy's and Lemmy's) sisters. All of them are incredibly sweet.

Samwise, Lemmy, and Iggy! Sam isn't ours--its complicated lol. But Lemmy and Iggy (the 2 white ones) are Flea's littermates. Sam is also from the park rat situation, but is of a different litter and is a week younger. (Iggy had an abscess drained a few days ago, it's why he's housed separate)

oh wow you are the only other person besides myself who i've seen say they've dealt with that. i had to stop doing commission/freelance work entirely because of it and i'm still working my way back into just doing art for myself again. it's good to see it's possible to overcome it

--when something I did before with an array, suddenly didn't work with this other "array" lol.

At the moment I have a small project that's forcing me to navigate through everything I have a hard time with, and I'm expecting to be mostly competent by the time I'm done, but it's been a struggle.

Events also feel pretty nebulous, but it's mainly arrays vs objects vs HTMLCollections vs NodeLists. It was this week I finally figured out that:

const foo = [];
foo['bar'] = "value";

is creating an object. In PHP, that's still an array, so imagine my frustration and confusion (and avoidance)--

Right, yeah! That's exactly what I keep stumbling over--I've been self-teaching the language for about a year now, and knowing what kind of data I have, what exactly I did to create that instead of what I expected, and knowing what will work with it, has been a huge struggle point for me
