There's no better way to understand how this economy really works than to see news that over 1 million jobs have been erased this year at the same time that the stock market is at or near a record high.

Part of the reason people who work professionally on homelessness policy coalesced behind "housing first" is because it is the cheapest possible solution (even cheaper for government overall than doing nothing is) and all the agencies that work on this are cash strapped.

I don’t know if people realize how much being online sometimes corrupts their soul because if you read that someone is going to die over weed and your reaction is “that’s what he gets”, then it’s probably time to rediscover a morality or an appreciation for human life outside of the law.
