TRENTON — Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill released the following statement slamming the Senate's proposed shutdown deal: "I ran for office to deliver for New Jerseyans, even in the face of Washington leadership that keeps failing people. And last week we won with a broad coalition after laying out a plan that takes bold action on costs, despite political pressure and people saying it couldn't be done. Voters made it clear: the American people want leadership with a backbone. And at a critical moment when they need leaders to stay strong under pressure, the Senate is on the brink of caving on a bill that the American people can't afford. "Make no mistake, if this deal passes, it will lead to New Jerseyans paying far more for their healthcare, when they are already paying more and more for everything. Making this deal is malpractice — we have more than 9 million people in New Jersey who are counting on us to fight for them, and instead Washington is putting them in harm's way. Not on my watch."

In doing so, Australia recognises the legitimate and long held aspirations of the people of Palestine to a state of their own. Australia's recognition of Palestine today, alongside Canada and the United Kingdom, is part of a co-ordinated international effort to build new momentum for a two-state solution, starting with a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages taken in the atrocities of October 7, 2023. Today's act of recognition reflects Australia's longstanding commitment to a two-state solution, which has always been the only path to enduring peace and security for the Israeli and the Palestinian peoples. The international community has set out clear requirements for the Palestinian Authority. Just as our Nation joined together after September 11th, so too must we make a similar and lasting commitment to defeat the evils that harm our democracy. While Virginia has led the way during the Founding of our Nation to ensure that the inalienable God-given rights of liberty and free speech were protected, we are not immune to today's assault on those rights and the civil debate that is a hallmark of a free society. The Governor said in his proclamation that the acceptance of murder or violence as a solution to political disagreements must be rejected, otherwise our Nation's very soul will suffer irreparable moral decay. As public servants, we are appropriately held to a higher standard. That means not only representing the Commonwealth during work, but also outside of the office and, especially, in social media. We asked Solange, who was standing with her friend Jenna, a Queens resident, what she thought of Cuomo, aside from his breakfast order. "Doesn't he live upstate or something like that?" Solange replied. "It shows that he's out of touch with the people and, like, what the people are actually into." Solange and Jenna are both 16, but said they'd vote for Zohran Mamdani if they could. They cited his electric social media presence, as well as his proposal to freeze the rent, as reasons for supporting him. "He seems to be doing a lot, especially with the rent freeze," Jenna said. "New York is an art-heavy city, and artists don't make a lot of money. So I feel like something like the rent freeze is very beneficial for the city."

"We are devastated and heartbroken at the loss of our parents, Melissa and Mark. They were the bright lights at the center of our lives, and we can't believe they are gone. Their love for us was boundless. We miss them so much. "We want everyone to know that we are both safe and with loved ones. We especially would like to thank the officers who were first on the scene to our parents' home and their heroic attempts to rescue our mom and dad. She was a longtime friend of Senator Smith's, who had seen her hours before she was murdered. So you'll forgive my candor as I speak through enormous grief. It is important for your office to know how much additional pain you've caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend. I am not sure what compelled you or your boss to say any of those things, which, in addition to being unconscionable, also may very well be untrue. But that is not the point. Why would you use the awesome power of a United States Senate Office to compound people's grief? Is this how your team measures success? Using the office of US Senator to post not just one but a series of jokes about an assassination- is that a successful day of work on Team Lee? Did you come into the office Monday and feel proud of the work you did over the weekend? Let's recap Saturday so you fully understand what Minnesota was going through. Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered. Sen. Hoffman and his wife were shot numerous times and remain hospitalized. By the grace of God it appears they will survive. Senators are discovered to be on a hit list of an armed man on the run —Senator Lee's colleagues. And the decision of the office of Senator Mike Lee was not to publicly condemn the violence screenshot 2 of 2 — It was to intimate that Melissa and Mark somehow deserved this? By making jokes? Did you have any consideration for the survivors in her family? For the Hoffmans in the hospital? For their families? You exploited the murder of a lifetime public servant and her husband to post some sick burns about Democrats. Did you see this as an excellent opportunity to get likes and retweet? Have you absolutely no conscience? No decency? I pray to God that none of you ever go through anything like this. I pray that Senator Lee and your office begin to see the people you work with in this building as colleagues and human beings. And I pray that if God forbid, you ever find yourselves having to deal with anything similar, you find yourselves on the receiving end of the kind of grace and compassion that Senator Mike Lee could not muster. Lastly I suggest you take a few minutes today to read about Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. They were remarkable people. Here's a story in the St. Paul Pioneer press called "Melissa Hortman: Once a teenager with a job making burritos, she became a powerful MN lawmaker who trained service dogs." She was a force. Trump @realDonaldTrump The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade. Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America? Is it purely a hatred of "TRUMP?" What other reason could it be? I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I use The Federalist Society as a recommending source on Judges. I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb of a real "sleazebag" named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions. He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don't believe it is! In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own "thing." I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations. This is something that cannot be forgotten! With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others. They always must do what's right for the Country! In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get. It is the difference between having a rich, prosperous, and successful United States of America, and quite the opposite. Targeted Sectors and Tactics ICE agents plan to initiate operations after breakfast hours and before dinner time, specifically targeting: • Restaurant workers, with a particular focus on employees at Subway franchises. • Delivery workers using scooters, especially those working for DoorDash. Agents are expected to enter establishments under the pretext of conducting I-9 employment eligibility verification checks. Simultaneously, other agents will be positioned at the rear exits to apprehend individuals attempting to flee.
