but the broader reality: he is corrupt, he is incompetent, and he surrounds himself with people who are the same. It is all plain to see. That is the truth he can never outrun, and it is our job to ensure the American people don’t forget it.

What matters is not just the latest embarrassment of his office—he has four years to keep humiliating it, and we likely haven’t even seen the floor of how low he’ll go

Yes, his treatment of allies is disgraceful. Yes, he is doing exactly what we expected. And yes, media across the political spectrum—from Fox News to MSNBC—are predictably giving it endless oxygen. But we cannot let Trump dictate the news cycle.

Every day, their alliance drags down his poll numbers and those of his party. Districts once considered reliably red are beginning to look like swing districts. If that trend continues, Trump could soon face a Congress capable of holding him accountable and reversing his cruel agenda.

The real story remains the dangerous, incompetent, and deeply unpopular actions of Elon Musk, his extralegal “department,” and Trump’s growing entanglement with them. Trump needs Musk financially, but he knows the optics are disastrous.

Nobody is cancelling or silencing you. It’s not about you. It’s about our friends family and neighbors, and stepping up as elected officials to let them know that we will stand with them over these next 4 years.

And yeah, there’s going to be mind boggling hypocrisy over these next four years. But we have got to ensure we’re never compared to them. We aren’t two sides of the same coin, and we SHOULD be held to a higher standard.

we need to lead with a little more humility, get better at delivering tangible results and then message those results clearly and consistently. We can’t let Republicans drive the narrative or spend all our energy reacting to their nonsense.

We (dems) claim higher principles and big policy goals, but often fall short. That gap between our ideals and what we deliver makes it easier for Republicans to drive the narrative. We can’t keep relying on pointing out hypocrisy, we have to give voters something real.

This entire ‘issue’ is a right-wing trap, using rare hypotheticals to distract from Republicans’ failure to address real problems like healthcare, housing, and wages. Trans kids aren’t a prop, and I guarantee Americans aren’t interested in Democrats handwringing over this.

Speaking of that, all 6 elected officials in this photo grew up in different communities, then chose Salem because of the community @kimdriscollma.bsky.social helped build.

Is there another downtown in Massachusetts as vibrant as Salem’s where a giant surface level parking lot abuts an equally massive garage?

Absolutely. My parents just made the opposite move from a lifetime in rural Maine to downtown Salem. More services, amenities and people for them here, and FAR less driving. But I know they still miss the open space at times.
