Digital marketing pays the bills, screenwriting gets me out of bed. I write character-driven genre stories exploring how flawed people fight for their humanity inside broken systems. Saints fan, fantasy football enthusiast.
Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Not trying to litigate Die Hard, but what’s the line between holiday set movies and holiday movies? I have a concept that takes place at Christmas, but it’s not particularly heartwarming… #Scriptchat

#Scriptsky in light of the Netflix news, thought I’d share a tidbit from the Black Rabbit panel at #AFF.

Roxie Rodriguez, SVP at Aggregate films, (Jason Bateman’s company) said Netflix has a favorite word for their “content.”

“Propulsivity.”

Is that actually a word?
Doesn’t matter.

Godspeed.

#5writersclub came down sick after holiday travel so I haven’t written as much as I wanted this week. It’s okay. Listening to my body, recharging and catching up on movies I missed (like Weapons!) is lovely in its own right. “Productivity” isn’t King for creative pursuits. #Scriptsky

Not gonna lie, missed #5amwritersclub after the holiday weekend. Very impressed with everyone getting after it to start December! I’ll be joining you tomorrow to close out 2025 strong 💪 #Scriptsky

Shakespeare in Love is just one of those films I fall in love with a little more every time I rewatch it. What a wonderful film written by a delightful and truly talented writer. RIP Mr. Stoppard. You will be missed. #Scriptsky

Some of the most cliche, borderline flippant, screenwriting advice I ever got has proven to be the most pertinent and even inspiring over the years.

Q: How do you climb Mt. Everest?
A: One step at a time.

Watching the first Zootopia with niece and nephew since the new one is coming out. (It’s been years!) I didn’t expect such a simple message to be so moving…

We all have limitations. We all make mistakes…

But try. Try to make the world a better place.

As AI spreads, I’m haunted by Keanu Reeves appearance on the New Heights podcast…

His story was about explaining the plot of The Matrix to his friend’s kids. They had a hard time understanding the stakes.

Keanu: They’re fighting for what’s real.

The kids: Who cares?

Something that’s made my characters better is leaning into their contradictions and hypocrisy. I used to think it made them feel inconsistent, but I’ve realized it makes them more human. Put poetically, the corners of the soul.

Hypothetical example: a vegetarian with one exception.

Happy Friday!! I hope the muse descends for everyone today, but even if not, we will power through. Bad pages > no pages.

Some mornings it feels like there’s not enough coffee. Shoutout to everyone else up and doing the damn thing anyway.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. Or so I tell myself as I pour more coffee. #5writersclub #Scriptsky

#Scriptsky always one of my favorite moments. Finally printing the damn thing to do line edits. (I always catch more typos/errors this way.)

Feeling it in my hands makes it feel more real. Solid. Inspires me for the last push!

Technically missed #5amwritersclub, but still managed to get some solid edits to my Vampire feature in before work.

Can’t overstate how invaluable good notes are. But I’ll always relate to a joke Ed Solomon made.

My reaction to notes is always the same.
First: Fuck you.
Then: Fuck me.

Some days, client legal review makes me feel absolutely insane. This is for my marketing job.

Originally copy: “doing so can make…”

Legal: “doing so can POTENTIALLY make…”

Me: Sobs existentially.

If I were a billionaire, I’d create something like Fannie Mae for movies and shows. Not government owned, but an entity that would take on some of the risk to encourage studios to invest in first-time filmmakers and more diverse voices.

Alas, probably why I’ll never be a billionaire! #Scriptsky

This is when I have to fight the urge to push myself too hard because of the existential dread that the holidays mean 2026 is here.

I’m not where I want to be yet. But burnout and stress won’t help the pages. Besides, we all deserve to recharge. Consistency is my focus. #5amwritersclub #Scriptsky

Saw #Bugonia. Performances were great and it really gave me a sense of deep existential dread. It was very well crafted, but I don’t think I’d want to see it again. Curious what others think. #Scriptsky
