Not exactly "completely" but yes. Once you visited The Attic, a couple of other rooms got corrupted resulting in insta-death if you entered them. Also a couple of objects were inaccessible so the game wasn't completable. Software Projects initially lied that it was by design to make the game harder.

I don't disagree (as my avatar should demonstrate!) and it's becoming A Problem.
It's not really fair to compare modern games with (really) retro though. When I was Gen Z age, games were considered extravagant if they'd had *two* people developing them...
