Animated films also tend to have Co directors, and I feel they're more of a group effort combination than live action films. But I don't know the pipeline of a live action film, so I could be entirely wrong.

yet they forget that Brad Bird was the director for Ratatouille, who was also the director for The Iron Giant and The Incredibles. That's a pretty amazing track record that's not talked much.

yeahhh most animated films are given credit to the studio rather than the director. I've never seen anyone credit a director for an animated film's success. rather they go "Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks, etc. made something good!" or "remember when Pixar made good movies, like Ratatouille?"
