I wonder if any part of it has to do with the "roguelike rpg" phrasing. I enjoy roguelikes as much as the next person, but have certain expectations going in that do not mesh well with what I personally want from a turn based RPG. I didn't look into Blanksword long after learning it was a roguelike.

TOTL Games's second and biggest Pro Quest is Saturday, October 25th! Each entrant adds $15 USD to the prize pool, meaning that if we reach our maximum player cap, there will be a $1K cash prize pool to compete for! As well as raffles and prizing for all levels of player!

Because they're pushing Silver Age (blitz but only commons and rares and a much more intensive banlist) as a new competitive level format. That and stores are downright allergic to scheduling Blitz Skirmishes and armories. I live in a major city and we had 1 Blitz Skirmish out of like, at least 10

They definitely tried to push Cloud, which is really cute, but no matter what level of corporate mandate- nothing can match the level of freak that the storm players on the R&D team can muster.

LSS did me a solid by killing Blitz format so I no longer feel kinda bad about having a rough draft for "why I dislike blitz as a new player and LGS employee" script I've not finished for several months. Now I don't have to worry about ever finishing it #fabtcg

I totally get your inclination to try and split channels and appease the whims of the algorithm, but I do think about how Rata has the occasional video game videos on his channel full of YGO and how his Ultrakill video is still his most successful ever. You could have the videos coexist in theory!

The vibe at our LL Skirmish got a lot more grim the moment Dash Player A realized he bricked his own hand with the NTZ he just played. Only to be rewarded by bricking Dash Player B even harder. Things then stabilized, only for Dash B to draw *their* NTZ...

I may not play Magic much these days, but making custom Jumpstart packs for the shop has been a fun project. It's like the bonsai trees of cube making.

They are, unfortunately, rather compelling. I mourned the death of a 29 year old horse this week with an intensity I would not have otherwise and funnel all my gambling urges into pushing for a 55% failure chance speed friendship training on my ride to work.

The sheer quantity of GOTY contenders coming out this month alone is staggering. Genuinely several all timers have already come out/are about to hit 1.0 this year. Gonna be one of my hardest GOTY picks in a while, I fear, lol

Lake Mungo as a horror film is impressive because it's mostly just build up for a singular moment but that buildup is so delightfully constructed and that moment is so soul rendingly haunting that it works with ease.
