David Field picks up the nutrition story by introducing his research on dietary interventions that target the balance of inhibition and excitation in the brain.
The message in our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop is clear: eat your veggies!

Staying with the brain-body physiology theme in our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop, Piril Hepsomali is discussing CINN research and capabilities in biomarker and nutrition research.

Straight after lunch, rather fittingly, @bhisma.bsky.social is introducing the gut-brain axis and the work of his group in CINN, bridging levels of function and physiology.
Our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop stays true to the multimodal ethos of the centre.

Our founding and incoming directors Doug Saddy and @carien.bsky.social kick off our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop with a history of the discipline, culminating in a tour of CINN.

Next in our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop, @wiebkegandhi.bsky.social is introducing the study of pain, using her work which iterates insights between the lab and the clinic.

Umit is now raising the temperature by introducing combined EEG/fMRI. Commensurate geekery ensues.

It's EEG time in our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop!
Umit Aydin and his co-conspirators are introducing us to electroencephalography, its history, theory, and practice.

After a gentle introduction to fMRI @nickhedger.bsky.social is sharing his own fascinating work with functional mapping of natural movie viewing.

After some strong coffee, we are all ready for @nickhedger.bsky.social to explain fMRI in our Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience workshop.
Ice-cream metaphors, beautiful graphics, and a crystal clear narrative do the job nicely! 👏
