Trees are often covered in a green or white deposit of algae, moss, or lichen on the north side. Because north gets less sunlight, it retains some moisture during the day, which favors the growth of algae. It makes the tree look more natural if you include this in your art. #art #reference #nature

The run-down inn in the last significant town at the edge of the midlands was their last opportunity to have a few drinks, an opportunity they made ample use of. Gart had been watching his companion all evening from the corner of his eye. The redhead had been in a good mood all day. Anyone else would have been put off by the doom and gloom that surrounded them. Lakur, in contrast, was looking forward to his first visit upland, a prospect that should have scared him. Or perhaps he was glad not to have to work for a few dys because the inn and the alcohol were cheap, and they would not need coin upland, as there was no one to pay. Gart was smitten with Lakur's energy that appeared to radiating from him more than usual, or perhaps it was his half-exposed chest and midriff. Gart had tried to suppress these feelings, but as the alcohol kept flowing, these thoughts became more and more meaningless to hi. When Lakur finally set his cup down, cleared their tab and said "Let's go back to our room", Gart followed him willingly, watching his companion walk with a spring in his step that made the short ponytail in the back of his head dance with every stap. He sighed silently when his eyes wandered further down. He finally broke when Lakur pushed the door open and stretched with an exaggerated gesture. Gart closed the door and walked up to his friend, as if in a trance, approaching him from behind in the flickering light of the candle. He brushed his hand lightly against Lakur's exposed upper arm and inhaled deeply against his neck. He smelled delicious in more than one way, but that was meaningless to him now. "What...?" Lakur wondered and turned around, looking up at him from below. Gart pulled him closer by the elbow and touched him ever so lightly below the chin. Lakur's breath on his face tuned him on even more. He closed his eye and leaned in to kiss him. <3
