If you found me from Twitter, hi! Welcome! As a friendly reminder, I'm currently on hiatus. My mother passed away January 9th and I'm working on recovering. I'm also still working transferring everything from her name to mine.

Please be patient with me while I go through all this.

Uh, you and Zach have two hands: one hand for each other and then you each hold the tree's hand!

I, however, have NOT been okay since my mom's passing. I've been good at faking it, but I can't fake it anymore. Grief counseling/therapy starts Monday. 👍

That was sweet of her. I had covered some of her work whenever she needs to step away for any reason. No one, especially her, ever has to make it up to me, but that was nice of her.

I had a bad mental health day yesterday. Like, one that was so bad I had to call out of work. Most of my coworkers are older woman who are mothers/grandmothers. One of them reached out to me and asked if there was any help at work she could do for me. ;w;

The one for "Your Idol" is so real because it is definitely my favorite song from the movie...

Have you seen the whole set of these guys? THEY ARE COMICALLY ALL FUNNY. I don't know how to explain Lulu holding a coke bottle is funny, it just IS

I've been on cleaning my disaster of a room for at least two weeks now. The sadness meter goes up and down with each new thing I do to it. ONE DAY I WILL BE OKAY.

Just not today. Back to Grand Bazaar—I MEAN CLEANING.

I will start by at least CLEANING the area around my gaming desk. I think that will help 100%.

I've been finding it a struggle to stream. A lot of it is just...depression and shit. I'm doing better trying to crawl out of it, but it's hard, y'know? I'm gonna get there. I'm gonna try. I just gotta be dramatic and stuff.

Listening/watching Sims players build complex things is literally like watching Bob Ross paint. You look up to what is being started, look away for five minutes, and look back to see a fucking landscape being built. Like, what? HOW? WHERE WAS I?!

Also, XSEED, give my childhood friend a chance to voice in these games. I want to play the game and be like 'THAT'S MY FRIEND. THAT'S MY MOTHER FUCKING FRIEND'.

How fucking cool would it be to have the very childhood friend who accidentally led me into one of my passions VOICE a character?
valerieplays.bsky.social
THAT'S ANOTHER THING I THOUGHT WAS AMAZING. They brought two characters from StH/HoLV into the game. Like, they added information from those games INTO THESE CHARACTERS. And I almost bawled my eyes out.

Grand Bazaar scratches an itch I've had for years and I'm gonna enjoy this feeling.
valerieplays.bsky.social
AND I DON'T JUST MEAN JUST STARTING OUT VA'S. THEY HAVE MOTHER FUDGING BOOTHILL VOICING TWO CHARACTERS I BELIEVE.

ONE OF WHICH IS FROM MY FAVORITE GAME, HOLV.
valerieplays.bsky.social
I feel like this game is more in depth with characters interacting with each other; I like the mechanics of the game; progressing doesn't seem like a chore like it had in the original; and I think it's fucking amazing XSeed's got ACTUAL VOICE ACTORS TO VOICE THE CHARACTERS.

I passed a cutscene where Gabriel, June, and Lloyd were talking and it hit me. I have FINALLY found the game that gave me the same high that Save the Homeland and Hero of Leaf Valley had when I first played them.
valerieplays.bsky.social
But I have not been able to put down the remake since I got home from vacation. Sure, I do for when I work and sleep, but sometimes I'll write for a little bit and I go right back into playing. With each new cutscene, I'm falling more and more in love with the characters and Zephyr Town.

I've played the original, but the bazaar feature was harder for me to process than the new one. Admittedly, I didn't give it as much of a fair chance as I wanted to. HOWEVER! I still knew it had potential, I just couldn't/didn't commit.
valerieplays.bsky.social
that those two games have given me. Many of the new games have certainly gotten close but there was never anything that really gave me that same feeling.

Until the Grand Bazaar remake.

Save the Homeland and the remake Hero of Leaf Valley have always been my favorite of the series. There's something about the community within the game that has always given me a small town, everyone is close vibe. As much as I love all the games I've played, I've been searching for the same high—

the new ones as they've been released. I was there for the Marvelous and Natsume split. TL;DR I'm not a small time fan, I am a BIG fan.

Now, for those who don't know, I am not a newbie to these games. My childhood friend had Back to Nature and Save the Homeland. I played them at her house around the time I was 11-13 years old and I was hooked. I've been playing the games ever since and, ever since I got a job, I've played—

The best part about having me as a friend is that I don't shut up about my interest. So, sit back and relax while I tell you why I think Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is the best Bokujo Monogatari game to this day.
