I disagree with Tony Soprano. “Remember when” is not the lowest form of communication. If something noteworthy happened a long time ago between two or more people, and those people are still in touch and still friendly enough to mutually share that memory, that’s kind of awesome actually

AT&T has been trying to get rid of landlines in California for YEARS because they are expensive and annoying to maintain, with shrinking market share. The people who use them, however, REALLY need them for safety and communication esp in rural areas with limited cell coverage.
They rely on copper landlines for emergencies. AT&T could threaten their lifeline
AT&T is fighting to ease regulations requiring landlines, which cost it $1 billion per year in California. It has spent big on lobbying.

I am currently training the cat to understand when I am about to turn the bedroom light on or off. Before I turn it off, I always say “Lights out!” And before I turn them on I announce, “Light’s coming on!” I don’t know why I am doing this. It just feels like she would want to know
