Howdy, I'm a mixed-media artist of sorts. I enjoy making a variety of crafts, props, and costumes based on video games and original ideas. I like things that are neat, and I hope you think my stuff is too!

The crafter is holding a blue diamond-shaped shield with the face of Wobbuffet, a defensive Pokemon. A miniature of a candle wax golem stacked on top of a leaning cast iron stove. The golem has a large, rusted hex nut with a red eye in the middle. Extending from its body and to the ground is an arm of wax and metal parts. A red glow is emitted from the belly of the stove.

After drawing the templates, I cut everything out of floor mat foam and glued on fake gems for rivets. Battle damaged was added with my knife and files.

After spray painting the items, I went over everything with a black wash (black acrylic paint + water + dish […]

Two long door straps and the door handle cover made of gray floor mat foam. The surfaces have scratches and gouged areas along with colorful fake gems. The straps and handle cover hanging from wires and spray-painted bronze. One bronze strap has a black wash applied, making it look dirtier and adding depth as it sits in the nooks and crannies. The other strap has patches of black liquid on top, not yet wiped across. A small squeeze bottle of black liquid is nearby. The door straps and door handle cover now with teal streaks running down them and some subtle areas of brighter bronze. There's a nearby makeup brush and hair dryer.

After 4 years of my Gastly door decoration hanging out by itself, I weekend-warriored some additional details for the door. It now looks much more cohesive. Apparently, there's nothing more motivating than your leasing office doing a Halloween door decorating […]

A dark blue door with a large, bronze Gastly face in the middle with a round, decorative frame. The door lock and handle have a decorative bronze frame. Two large bronze straps with rivets go across the top and bottom of the door. There is a teal patina running down all the bronze items. An above-angle view of the door. A front view of the door. A very low-angle view of the door.

After breaking and repairing joints five times, I've finally decided to cut my losses.
The new sword I'm printing will be thicker and have holes for connecting rods. It will look less sharp but it should be more sturdy.

A long triangular blade with patches of white, gray, black, and light red from the layers of filler and sanding done. The top third of the blade is broken off from the rest.

Let's use the after-con motivation to post cosplay pics? :''')
I've wanted take pictures in this place when it's blooming for 10 years (and I wish I was joking). FINALLY! I grabbed the first pink costume within my vicinity which happened to be Tomoyo from Card […]

@wildrikku If you spread baking soda on uncured super glue, it cures instantly and creates a hard substance that bonds stronger than super glue alone. It can also fill gaps and is still sandable, so I like to use it to reinforce joints from the outside.

I've finished 3D printing my Cowboy Zero sword. It's printed in a translucent PETG, which happened to be useful for seeing how far the aluminum rod is inside the blade. The blade had to be printed into 7 pieces, super glued together, and reinforced with super […]

A translucent white sword with a triangular blade. An aluminum rod runs through the blade, guard, and grip. The long hexagonal pommel is to the side since the rod is too long. The crafter is holding the sword by its grip and looking into the distance.

I'm designing and 3D printing a sword for my cowboy version of Zero (from the Megaman Zero series).

I spent a lot of time trying to translate the sci-fi sword into something from the mid-1800s. I thought I'd have to abandon the blade's blue/teal color until I […]

In the center is a 3D-modeled sword with a long, triangular teal blade. An arrow points from the blade to a photo on the left of a tempered blue steel knife. On the right is artwork of Zero standing while holding a sword with a long, translucent teal blade. A close-up of the 3D model sword. The light gray triangular guard is inset with a filigree and lotus design. The handle is wrapped in black leather.

["Blue falcon" means something rude, but we jest about it]

My supervisor was the one who named our blue-color team "Blue Falcons", before informing us it's a military term for a backstabber or Buddy F*****. He was a funny guy 😅

This past week was the end of a months-long training program at my new job. My instructors and fellow trainees all had a blast, one of the highlights being a field/spirit day event. My team, the Blue Falcons, performed a great comedy skit about dining etiquette […]

A closeup of 2 blue falcon napkin rings, one with a blue bandana through it. The design is the top half of a bird with its wings crossed over each other to form the ring. A wooden box filled with 40 napkin rings with paper napkins.

Part worked stitched artwork depicting an old stone building with mullioned windows and a large brown door. Most of the stonework is now complete and some greenery added near the door. Viewed on an angle to show texture

@Blahmage You have to push the stamps very hard to keep the designs from disappearing over time. This seems easier on thicker EVA foam.
Heating the foam with a heat gun before stamping makes the most durable designs. However, reheating the designs, from trying to do more stamping, will erase […]

I'm planning to make some (fake) leather cuffs for an upcoming cowboy cosplay. I've seen ones with nice stamped designs, but the actual stamps are pricey. So I threw together some 3D printed stamps and they look pretty good so far!

Yellow craft foam is embossed with two designs. One is a series of interlocking Y-shapes. The other is a stylized Z with a circle around it. The 3D printed stamps are next to the embossed designs.

@Sharksonaplane Thanks! I'll share more once things get to a more presentable state.

I had a great time last night playtesting my video game with a local game dev group. My goal was to see how little information I could get away with telling players about mechanics.

I intended players to throw civilians away from the boss. Despite the visual […]

A photoshop edit of an infamous Club Penguin comic meme.
Panel 1: A distressed civilian from the game is on a cell phone calling 911. The operator says, "nine one one what is your emergency?"
Panel 2: The distressed person is pulled away by a lasso. The operator says, "what do you mean you're being murdered?"
Panel 3: The operator says, "that's illegal people can't do that."

Of course, only now my brother points out my colors are similar to Carvanha. Maybe I can save myself the trouble I spent mocking up all those color schemes and just copy from another Pokemon in the future 😅
Carvanha, a piranha Pokemon, is floating beside a bull-looking tank. The Pokemon has blue, red, and yellow colors, which are similar to the tank's blue, red, and brass colors. The tank is looking at the Pokemon from the corner of its eye and is confused.

After mocking up a color scheme for my trashbashed video game boss, I finally started painting.

The metallic base coat looked cool, but the paint job's not too bad. I tried a technique I've seen some minipainters use: stippling on layers of paint while staying […]

The color mockup: A profile view of a tank that looks like a simplified bull. It has a blue body with a red jaw and a dark blue forehead. Sticking out of its head are red ears with long, bronze horns. Several turbines stick out from the back of the body. Large tank treads are supporting the body. A cartoonish angry face is drawn over it digitally. The base coat: Various shades of silver and brass are painted on the tank. Profile view of the final result: In the areas that are blue and red, the corners, edges, and areas where paint is splotchy show the underlying metallic colors. A view of the final result from the rear above.
