Thank you, Speaker Jones, for your historic leadership and tireless commitment to our state. It’s been an honor to work alongside you for so many years, and Maryland is stronger than ever because of your service.

Trump has been played over and over again by Putin.

From the summit in Alaska, to the 28-point plan that was a Trojan Horse for Putin's demands, to today — he has betrayed the cause of freedom in Ukraine.

We all want peace. He is prolonging the war and the suffering.

We must stop tinkering around the edges of a broken healthcare system.

Yes, let's extend the ACA tax credits to prevent a huge spike in healthcare costs for millions. Then, let's finally create a system that puts your health over corporate profits.

We need Medicare for All.

We can’t forget that Trump once called members of our military "suckers" & "losers.” So, let’s be honest: he’s attempting to use our military as his personal political pawns and believes they owe loyalty to him and not to our Constitution and our country.

16-year-old American Mohammed Ibrahim has been released after over 9 months in an Israeli prison without trial.

I was relieved to hear from his family today and to know that he’s safe and where he belongs — with his family.

Across America, families are having to cut back on their Thanksgiving dinners because prices are simply too high.

When Trump & his White House try to lecture & gaslight us about how costs are coming down, do not fall for their con — believe your own eyes.

This has been a challenging year, but time & time again, Marylanders have stepped up to help neighbors in need.

That spirit shines through at Nourishing Bethesda and I am grateful for their work supporting families this holiday season and all year long.

Data centers are important for many reasons BUT consumers should NOT have to pay higher bills to facilitate the huge amounts of electricity they eat up.

The richest companies on the planet are building these centers and they should bear the costs — not you.

Israel has held 16-year-old American, Mohammed Ibrahim, without trial, for 9 months.

He has been denied contact with family & his health is deteriorating. He says he falsely confessed to throwing a rock after being beaten.

America needs to secure his release NOW.

The U.S. has the leverage to help stop the RSF's atrocities in Sudan, RIGHT NOW. But to do that we have to use it.

Today, Republicans blocked my effort to pass legislation to suspend arms sales to the UAE until we can verify they are no longer arming the genocidal RSF. Shameful.

Must be a total coincidence this announcement came the day after these guys were seen at Trump’s ritzy dinner party.

Trump doesn’t have this authority. States are filling the void left by the federal govt’s failure to create an accountability structure for AI companies.

Trump and Congressional Republicans have a little over a month to diffuse the health care time bomb they left ticking on American families.

If these tax credits expire, it will spike health care costs for everyone — whether you’re on the ACA or not.

On Veterans Day and every day, we honor all those who have served in our military — making extraordinary sacrifices to defend our democracy and our freedom.

We must never take for granted the values they’ve served to protect.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

In light of news that the RSF agreed to a ceasefire, I will put that plan on hold and continue to monitor the situation on the ground. My full statement: (2/2)

This is pathetic on two counts. First, the “Dear Leader” worship from Trump’s Cabinet is mind-boggling. Second, it’s dishonest — Trump’s been defunding science, driving talent overseas, and creating a brain drain.

Now, if there were a Nobel for idiocy, he’d be a finalist.

Trump turned a visit with US troops in Japan into another campaign rally — disgracing the role of Commander in Chief & using our military as political props.

This from the guy who dodged Vietnam and called our troops “suckers and losers.” What a disgrace. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

The Trump Administration has been desperately shopping for faraway countries where they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia — all to deny him his constitutional rights here in America.

We cannot stand for it. He must be allowed to defend himself in court. My full statement:

These photos get more outrageous the more you look at them.

Tearing down the People's House for a $300M vanity project while federal workers go unpaid and America barrels towards a health care crisis.

A literal depiction of what Trump is doing to our country.
October 24, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Week 4 of the shutdown. Federal workers unpaid. A looming health care crisis.

And Trump? He's talking to everyone BUT Democrats —sending billions of taxpayer dollars to his buddy in Argentina and negotiating in the Middle East while refusing to reopen his own government.

Insane.

Kings and dictators thrive when everyday people stay silent and look the other way.

Yesterday, millions of Americans — including these fired-up Marylanders in Towson — stood up and said:

We will not be silent. We will not look away. NO KINGS.
October 20, 2025 at 1:40 AM
Trump and his cronies spread all sorts of lies about yesterday's No Kings Day protests.

I'll tell you what I saw from these folks in Columbia and throughout Maryland — Americans of all ages gathering peacefully to deliver a simple message: In America, we don't bow down to kings.
October 19, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Presidents and governors shouldn't be able to deploy National Guard troops from one state to another if that state's governor objects.

That is common sense, and yet Republicans just blocked my amendment to stop this blatant abuse of power. Another shameful abdication of duty.

This is the first hopeful moment in a long time. At last we have an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all the hostages, and a surge of desperately needed aid to the people of Gaza. It is long overdue.

If Republicans don’t pass our bill to reopen the government and extend ACA tax credits, millions of families will see their health care costs soar.

Here's just one example of a MD couple who would see their costs nearly TRIPLE — a health catastrophe and another Trump betrayal:
