I write code for fun and profit.
Did you know you're supposed to oil a new wooden cutting board?

Oil it once with vegetable oil, then repeat in 24 hours. There is a stark color difference.

You can put DaVinci's Optimized Media Folder in your anti-virus exclusion for significantly improved optimized media generation speeds.

Reason is that Optimized Media is about 100 000 files per 1h of footage, so there is an overhead from AV intercepting file creation.

Ref Callbacks got an upgrade with React 19, and the presence of the React Compiler has further changed my thinking about using useCallback for those in some situations.

Thank you @gsathya.bsky.social for starting the discussion about this 🙇‍♂️

I was working on an episode for my course and used the following command:

pnpm add -D @monorepo/config@workspace:^

It made me realize I need to add another lesson beforehand just to explain the 5 different concepts in that 1 line.

Until I moved to Bluesky, I always called X it's old name - Twitter.

But now that I'm here, the other site has become X dot com in my mind.

It took me moving here to finally abandon the idea of the original Twitter returning.

Feeling a little melancholic.

Here is a great list of better alternatives to common packages:

PSA: Use `crypto.randomUUID()` and not the `uuid` package.

It's supported in all modern browsers and in Node >19.

Also, give me good meal prep ideas!

Need to make tasty and high protein food for work and stop ordering all the time.

Have stove and freezer at work, if that matters.
Anyone have good go-to snacks?

I need creative help here

I moved here as part of the tech exhodus.

Tech discussions here both surface much easier in the algo, and are generally better. My guess is that because toxicity is much lower here, people just come with a better disposition.

I like it here.

now might be a good time to plug the talk i gave last month about the AT Protocol. it’s about the relationship between the user and the product, about the shape of the web, and a bit about death
