The guy who came up with but failed to monetize "danger flutes." I’m a fan of the Senators from Ottawa and I have a Substack about bin-diving for records at rabbitholerecords.substack.com

I guess it’s worth mentioning that this past October was the 10th anniversary of the original danger flutes post on Welcome To Your Karlsson Years: welcometoyourkarlssonyears.com/2014/10/08/g...
GAME ON
In celebration of the hockey season kicking off tomorrow, we offer a breakdown of the Ottawa Senators theme song. [EDIT: user does not allow embedded video, because why would you do that if you&#82…

So Pinto really is the guy that gets the team back into it, isn’t he?

When a team squanders a Saturday night in their own barn like the Sens are doing right now the fans should get a free slice of pizza.

Sens leading 15-2 in shots through one and I absolutely do not have a good feeling about this.

My question made it on to the 32 thoughts podcast. From now on this account is paywalled.

Me in 2005: “I’m going to spend seven straight days doing whatever I want with all of my best friends. I think life sucks.”

Me in 2025: “I look forward to taking ten minutes to break down the cardboard in the driveway. That’s me time.”

Devastating: I impulse bought a T-shirt with the cover of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless on it and eight weeks later the chunkiest cheapest shitty T-shirt arrived from China with just the word “Loveless” on the front.

An indie band called Chantal St-Hubert. Is this anything?

I wonder if when Travis Green says “we need to get back to our game” it means something specific or if it’s like when my mom puts something she wants to see happen “out to the universe.”

Leevi Meriläinen’s previous strategy of being a .925 goaltender was superior, imho

Radio Free Sens has acquired this exclusive footage of NHL officials learning that the Olympic ice surface has been constructed to smaller dimensions than those required by NHL rules:

I’m sorry, I know it’s a disaster, but it’s very funny that the Olympic hockey rink in Milan is being constructed in the most Italian way possible.

Colorado having a +50 goal differential 30% of the way into the season is wild.

Last year’s differential leader was +86 at the end of the season.

Boston’s +128 in 22-23 is the highest over the last 10 years, seems like Colorado can beat it.

Hell yeah. Winning record on the hardest road trip of the season, without Chabot and mostly without Tkachuk. This team’s got the juice.

Parenting is one miraculous milestone every couple of weeks until they become possessed by an ancient demon whose aim is to produce enough psychic distress to open a portal to their dimension.

Embarking on a seven game road trip through the Southwest United States and then somehow ending in Montreal is like going to a family reunion, meeting a bunch of strange people you’re apparently related to, and then going for a walk to smoke weed with the one cousin you are close with / hate.

Can’t believe Sens lost that one but hey, so did the Wings, Bruins, Leafs, and Sabres, and I was at the zoo anyway.

Seeing a lot of progressive allies dunking on Carney this morning (some of whom are saying the pipeline deal somehow makes Canada *more* dependent on the US). As a person who aspires to be considered progressive, for whom climate is far and away the biggest issue, I thought this was interesting.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Remember when people thought he wasn't good at politics? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/27/o...

Are they ever gonna update this? Don’t run away from it - lean in. A counter at the top of the screen at all times, maybe?

You, a casual sports fan: “It’s cool that the Blue Jays just spent $200 million on a free agent.”

Me, a hardcore sports fan: “It’s cool that the Ottawa Senators gave David Perron a second year.”

Sens struggle the most against Buffalo and Los Angeles because at the end of the day those two cities are basically the same.
