Stock market reactions should always look in a slightly longer timeline. In a short timeline, everything always seem to drastically change.

Edge is also a Chrome, I believe.

There are so many of them that I cannot know for sure, sorry :-| It doesn't seem to me that any of the alternatives offer enough benefits to warrant changing.

And of course whatever you choose, it's wrong.

There are two options really: Firefox and Chrome. Firefox has essentially a single version (although some modification versions exist like librefox). Chrome has several versions that change quite a lot, even so much that perhaps they cannot be called Chrome anymore.

Chrome has >90% market share.

The replies to this sure paint an incredibly ugly picture of the state of bsky. Not a long ago people had the delusion that this would be a better place than Twitter.

I'm into Cosmic Desktop these days. Sway and hyprland configuration gives me the creeps even though they're more flexible

One of the happiest realizations in my programming career has been when gofmt and folks came along and it became apparent that I don't have to give a fuck about formatting ever again.

It's kinda sad when your heroes stop growing.

Ok, but we need a solution today as well as in the far future when such better solutions get invented

I hope the AI says "100% all of them and it happens today"

Non-violence would be amazing if just everyone would do it and never stray from that path.

Back when Dilbert was still kinda good, there was this bit where Dogbert wished for world peace, and the punchline was "if nobody had weapons I could take over the whole planet with a butter knife".

And furthermore, if the system locks up, it shouldn't cause hard drive (I assume filesystem) problems.

I say this as a loving Linux user since 1996: this sounds like a Linux problem, not a Firefox problem. An application should not lock up your system.

I keep failing to understand why I should love this Soros guy so much, but I guess I gotta when the evil people hate him

I sometimes think that all software should be sandboxed. I mean, for instance, why does firefox get to read everything in my home dir and not just its own directory and perhaps ~/Downloads?

Flatpak kinda allows this via flatseal but seems to me like that should be the default out-of-the-box.
