It's time to win the future back.
It's funny to compare the coverage of Trump vs. Mamdani. With Trump it was: "He's not actually going to do the unpopular, stupid, and dangerous things he talks about all of the time, lol." With Mamdani it's "Every thing he has ever said will happen and New York will collapse into a heap of ashes."

They were able to command higher prices for similar goods because of their image. They gave that up to kiss the ass of an administration with a 39% approval rating one year in. How do they ever get their customer base back?

This is just a distraction from the real villan, Finland. They need the rainforest wood to build their saunas.

"Strong Floor, No Ceiling" sounds like a book you are forced to read when you join an MLM cult

And well fed if the sample people are out in force

I feel like this is the closest we got. The two day delay in identifying the murderer and the guy ultimately being white turned down the temperature just enough to avoid a bigger blowup.

You only need some people to change. Hoover got almost 40% of the vote in 1932. Even if only 10% of the country changed their minds, it would be a blue supernova. If we got a 60-40 election that's something on the order of 350 EVs, 60+ senate seats and a huge house majority.

Home Alone with a kid that looks like Macaulay Culkin

I guess it depends on whether I have a cute dog or not.

They're probably below 50 percent in internal polling.

He has that smug "I'm smarter than everyone else" attitude that most people despise.

I've had this experience. The first time I drove through Southern California I kept passing through cities I hadn't heard of that would easily be the 2nd-4th largest cities in my home state.

I love how adding 119,000 jobs is "solid gains" when two years ago it would have been seen as a weak number that would kick off weeks of articles predicting a recession.

Hmm... they're disbanding his "cartel task force." He definitely went and bought and did a bunch of blow for "research purposes."

Loudoun Gateway is a planning failure because it is built to be a park-and-ride type facility but it's more accessible to an underutilized toll road than it is Route 28 with 120,000 cars per day. You cant bolster usage with TOD because it is right under the approach to one of Dulles's runways.

What's the point of voting this way? No swing voters give a shit either way about DC police reform. You've just pissed off your base for no gain.

Finally knocked that smirk off his face for a bit.
November 20, 2025 at 4:36 AM
And as I like to point out, there was no endless stream of pieces from the mainstream media about how Republicans need to get out of their bubble and understand the struggles of "everyday Americans."

I think the results in VA suggest reactionary politics are the result of decadence instead of economic struggle. In 2021 when the economy was on the way up, trans issues were salient with the electorate. Winsome-Sears basically tried to rerun 2021's campaign and flopped.

I noticed that the other day. What if there WAS a "Charlie Kirk effect" and it was just the right pissing off everyone else off by trying to force everyone to like him posthumously. "They awakened an army." Yeah Erika, an army of libs.
November 20, 2025 at 3:53 AM
It's just good to see less of that smirk these days.

It was obvious Trump would have few guardrails because the people who would tell him no wouldn't touch his second term with a 10 foot pole or would be instantly purged. I tried to tell a lot of people that Trump 2 would be worse than Trump 1. So many people made up an imaginary version of the man.

This is why I think it is important to focus on how we design our suburbs. If we can require land to be set aside for future roads as we build, there's no reason we can't do the same for future busways.

I've been thinking about this recently. The idea that powerful people could face consequences definitely made a lot of people squirm.
