Yorkshire, I love reading, travel, home and my dogs
I have really enjoyed ‘The Northern Weird Project’ from @wildhuntbooks.bsky.social
Five of the six novellas have been released; odd, dark and contemporary tales inspired by the life, scenery and folklore of Northern England. I look forward to book six and future projects.

Thank you for a lovely evening, such a joy to hear you talking about your books and journey as an author - also thank you for briefly joining our quiz team and spotting my Maltese Falcon mistake! Read Holmfirth is such a wonderful bookshop.

I’m reading ‘Murder at the Black Cat Cafe’ by Seishi Yokomizo. - I love Honkaku/Japanese ‘Golden Age’ crime fiction. Only slightly miffed that Pushkin Press have changed the cover styles.

I hadn’t realised that, and will certainly listen to them. Perhaps to reach a wider audience? I wouldn’t have known about the stories without the book.

I enjoyed them, I took the book away with me to a mid size old hotel (in France) on a short autumnal break. In a hotel bar, before a log fire definitely added to the atmosphere. I feel though that reading it as a “book” one after another is not the best, each in isolation may be a better way.

I loved ‘This House Isn’t Haunted But We Are’, that I bought direct from @wildhuntbooks.bsky.social
Where can I buy your other titles?

Allan and Janet Ahlberg books were such favourites of my children, we as parents got so much pleasure out of reading them at bedtime. I think we can all recite most from memory ♥️

I have bought so many books from new to me authors solely from Bluesky, and seen new releases of favourite authors, I’ve then purchased. I mainly read horror, which seems to have a really strong community here.

I’m reading Eurotrash by Christian Kracht (pub. Serpent’s Tail, translated by Daniel Bowles).

This one about the club Fabric my husband and I were fans of in ‘99 and the early 2000s and that my daughter is now a huge fan of. Wonderful photographs of the club scene

This and Hairy Maclary were my children’s (now 20 & 18) favourites. I too can recite every word. Such happy memories
