Day 5: Soul

Having travelled all across the Source in search of a soul, this Hrothgar finally found one beyond the veil on the First. Seriously, it was hard to find any environmental bread.

Bold-headed upstart that he is, Vertyl lands the first and devastating blow. Alas...

The young Hrothgar was not prepared for his mimicking opponent's greater spellbook!

Their feud is riddled with questions. Who is stronger? (It's the pale one.) Who was first? (It's the pale one.) Who is the cheap copy? (Definitely not me!)

We think of Legacy as a grand remnant of our very existence. And yet I'd ask you to ponder the smaller 'legacies' you're leaving every day. The small nothings invoking joyful 'somethings', however long.

A Hrothgar waiter taking two scholars' - an Au Ra's (Aureys) and another Hrothgar's (Yarothgar) - orders.

An unfortunate time delay caused both the choccy treat and the tea to arrive later than expected. The apron'd Hrothgar apologises humbly, and wishes his guests an enjoyable stay regardless.

Despite the inconvenience, the academicians were delighted by not only the culinary nibbles they enjoyed some time ago, but also by the service! They may both never remember their leonine server's visage, yet their stay remained a pleasant one that could very well have made their day.

The last three years have been very eye-opening to me in terms of self-discovery and -acceptance. Thinking on that, I'm in awe of how many people were involved in shaping me who I am today, actively or in the background.

I'm a gay furry, and proud of it.

Both of those are integral to who I am.

Day 1: Greetings

There's many ways to make yourself known, but most of them start with a "heyho", "ohokaliy", "greetings", "lahee" or even "meowdy". Rare is a message as powerful as pushing up your glasses, however. Silent and immediate in establishing oneself.

I hate overhearing customers at work sometimes.
This comes from a place of privilege, but hearing everything that's happening over there being discussed here is... Unsettling. I kept a certain distance through online interactions, but seeing my fears discussed irl is a whole different matter.

I usually don't keep up with the Emmys, but I'm so glad Andor got one for one of its tightest episodes. Such a relevant and extremely well-made show I don't get tired of praising from a very unsuspecting place. I sincerely wish more people gave it a go, in spite of the franchise it belongs to.

It's these kinds of stories that resonate and inspire me to live, yet too many people are all too happy to discard it in the name of convenience and pettiness. So many stories have touched my heart, and it's a tragedy we're spearheaded towards an environment considering that a bug, not THE feature.

It makes me sad to see AI content about... anything really, but especially about things that exemplify "art".

E.g. anyone who's generated stuff about Expedition 33, a narrative so obsessed with art, artistic expression and the very real soul of the artist poured into their work, missed the point.

I had a lot of fun recreating old glams of mine I used for the MSQ, and recalling the roleplaying decisions behind each job and outfit. I don't necessarily see my Hrothgar as a different character, but "Vertyl, the WoL" in the MSQ is. He also had a different and beard hairstyle before 6.1, heh.

Lastly, his crusade against despair called for a beacon of light and hope. Recalling prior experience, he created his own armour - a mix of Sharlayan academicism and the Coerthan chivalry. It would be the last role he would assume before returning to his roots as a gentlemanly Scholar.

Even though his experience as a Dark Knight proved useful within the Everlasting Light, Vertyl sought help from another beyond to assist in this one. Forging a covenant with his voidsent avatar, he aspired to not only help one world, but all of them, using a scythe gifted by a dear friend.

It was only after defeating the Heaven's Ward that he could return to his business as a Scion second and adventurer first. Combining flourish with versatility, it's his rapier and focus that aided him to free Ala Mhigo and Doma, proudly adding his own touches to his new Scion uniform.
