A heartfelt thanks to friends and family who have checked in on us. Other than bad air quality, we are okay. But, damn! This has to be the worst disaster L.A. has ever experienced. I don’t know how some of these communities, like poor Altadena, recover.

First, we take care of ourselves. Simple acts. We get up, we bathe, we eat, we move our body. Repeat. Then we get up, we live, we look out for each other, we come out of our exhaustion, and we do what we can in defiance, because everything we do now will be in defiance of misogyny, racism, and hate. This includes supporting those doing the heavy lifting. We owe it to those who will not survive this era. Stay strong.
