Reporter of NYC Courts. Catch me at 100 Centre, 60 Centre, or 500 Pearl. Covered Trump, Ghislaine Maxwell, R. Kelly, Weinstein trials, among others. Always fighting for press access ❤️
I'd use this one later because it'll keep people going for a while, which is the intent. Is AI good for recipes?

In a similar vein...historic feats of civil engineering. I suggest memorizing some facts about the Eerie Canal system. While I, for one, find locks and the like fascinating, others will not. Extra points for mentioning PA horshoe curve.

Actually anything American war of independence related is good.

Has genealogical research somehow devolved into a topic of dispute? Then start talking about whatever figures from your ancestors' home countries might have participated in the American revolution. Everyone will be so bored hearing about this, they will move on at least temporarily.

Tell your people to chill, man. They shouldn't ask you when your train gets in--just tell them that it will. Enjoy the romance of innocuous uncertainty for a few hours. It'll be fine, I promise!

4. Don't freak out if you see people taking photos of trains. Some people are really into trains. It's totally normal.

3. If you're traveling with someone, get into the whole spirit of trains and talk to them rather than stare at screens. The chairs are very amenable to conversation and the cafe car (and/or diner, if you're in a sleeper) is inherently social.

2. Look out the window. You can see America! And see things that are different than whatever bubble you live in!

1. Chill, man. Yes, you've gotta be somewhere at some point, but trains get to where they're going, sometimes on their own schedule.

If you want to huff and puff about delays, then you're most definitely a flight person and should take a plane.
