I understand little Chihiro there. I, too, sometimes almost cried back when I couldn't read kanji at all, and even now I sometimes tear up when I see many kanji I can't read 😭

This year I've been watching more old anime and rewatching anime I saw as a kid but now with JP subs. Sometimes I find good gems and new value in the things I saw in the past

Oh I actually liked that part with Setsu though. The scene with Setsu just admitting it was really cool. I kind of want to see Yuri as a Gnosia too
But yeah, other than that, I agree about the "doctor" and "engineer" stuff. Not sure the word for it, but it felt disappointing, I guess

Yeah, it feels a bit game-y to me too. Is this a downside for you?
For me, while I'm enjoying the anime, I don't like how game-y some of the episodes feel sometimes. This is apparently a two-cour anime so I hope they'll become more liberal with the directing later on

Normally I think humanity should defeat death and everyone given the choice to live however long they want... But I wonder if we'd just have perpetual dictators and more social and class rigidity in that sort of world

Really fun episode! Last episode felt a bit too much like a game with the engineer stuff but it's been fun so far despite that
I want to see all the other characters from the opening soon and see Setsu and Yuri cooperate more too
