The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

The Richardson Olmsted Complex, Buffalo, NY. The grounds are public space. One of my favorite lunch time walks when I was still working, it was a five minute drive from my office.
Originally operated as what was known as as an insane asylum back in 1880.

Incredible basil from the Restaurant Supply store.
Chopped & packed with EVOO for the freezer.
The stems in water, fingers crossed they‘ll root & leaf out over the winter.
The fragrance is outstanding, sweet & complex.
Memories of summertime as I watch glittery snow swirling in the sun outside.

Reflecting, on retirement.
One thing I do not miss AT ALL are the team building/ice breaker exercises. They were fun for maybe 1% of the group & torture for the rest of us.
If you are a manager, spend some unstructured time with your people, learn who they are, use their skills.

Afib is a tough nut to crack with just medication.
The doctor upped my dose and hopefully that will hold me for a while.👏

The holidays are just beginning.

While it seems like coming in contact with people who are not good for our mental health is inevitable, it doesn’t need to be.

Protecting our mental well being is paramount.

Consider your options carefully, set your boundaries with kindness, but with firmness.

Lay’s Potato Chips now have a claim on the package that states ‘Made With Real Potatoes’ because when asked, 42% of consumers did not know that potato chips are made from potatoes.
And these folks vote.

70 years old today.

I recall joking around with a school friend in 1965 about how far away the year 2000 was. We couldn’t fathom being in our 40’s at that time, because that was ancient.

And here I am.
Not feeling so ancient, just yet.

I wrote this about #Thanksgiving and gratitude five years ago. Still good advice, I think.
