I love writing essays. I just never realized it because I didn't have an outlet.
But making a video for youtube flipped a switch in my brain. Now, whenever I have an idea I write it out and the time spent on it is "justified" since I *might* be able to use it at some point.
Funny how that works.

Great thing about having an anime avi is when people are having a serious discussion about smth and you get to drop in and say “actually, the Barcelona target both prescribes GDP goals on R&D for national budgets AND expenditure in the private sector” and see them trying to reconfigure in real time.

I've reading up on Segagaga in light of the announcement and I'm stuck by how its wikipedia entry frames the game.
It details how the lead dev struggled to get a proper budget and that the game was "was not a commercial success".
But that doesn't seem like it's actually true?

In general I think there's a lot of missed opportunities in "testing" player knowledge in smart ways. It doesn't need to be a gotcha but simple stuff like making sure the player has been paying attention.
Like early Trails is good at this, by giving low-stakes questions that with tiny rewards.

It’s Obra Dinn. Obra Dinn gives you a structure to work in that makes you feel like you’re smart even if you’re not *that* smart. It’s baffling that more AA/AAA games have not folded it into their games RPing ‘smart’ characters. (Even tho I’ve been pitching them for years.)

I don't generally bemoan that artists fall off relevancy with time, but it's kinda sad that CLAMP has been reduced to making Netflix shows and Yu-Gi-Oh knock-offs.

I hate to say this, because Lineham is a huge piece of shit, but I think anyone should read the actual verdict before commenting.

Love it when people’s response to the SEGA/Atlus rerelease article is that they should just allow upgrade packs.
Because look, I agree that’s the ethical approach, but there’s a reason why they can’t do that:
People would realize how bad most of them are and would stop buying them.
